How It Works
To register
- Use your email address and choose a password that is secure but memorable. If you forget your log in information, Locum Monkey can reset it for you.
- Select the primary care trusts you wish to work in.
- Enter your qualifications. You can scan and upload up to six documents and save them on the site. You can then download these to your desktop as required and forward on to practices should they request this information. Recommended documents for uploading are:
two references
your GMC certificate
your CV
Defence Union certificate
CCT in General Practice certificate.
It is free to join Locum Monkey as a locum. Once you are registered you will begin to receive job notifications by SMS. The text message is sent to you free of charge. It will include the practice name, phone number and a contact name along with details of the job. If you are interested in the job, simply give them a call.
Sometimes practices may send a follow up SMS to say that the position has been filled. But this is at the discretion of the individual practice.
- Enter your email address and choose a password - to make life easy, your practice can register several different users under the same account.
- Fill in the online registration form and select an ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION OR PAY AS YOU GO account.
To advertise a vacancy, simply log on to the website, choose Search for a Locum, and you will be taken to the SMS screen. Type your vacancy information. The message will be prefilled with your practice address and phone number. Do not delete this information. Once you send your message, it will be received by a large number of doctors in your area. They will get an instant SMS with your job details and interested locums will then call you directly to finalise the arrangement.
The service is completely free for locums and very cost effective for practices.
